Presidential search underway

Laurier begins process of finding next president and vice-chancellor

Dr. Max Blouw will complete his second and final term as president and vice-chancellor of Wilfrid Laurier University on June 30, 2017. The Board of Governors has initiated the formal search process for the next president and vice-chancellor of the university. A presidential search committee has been assembled in accordance with the board’s Approved Procedures for Searches and Reviews of Senior Administrators.

The committee will soon commence consultations with the university community and stakeholders to define the experience and qualities the university should seek in its next leader. The search committee will also be responsible for screening and interviewing candidates with a view to identifying a superior candidate to present to the university’s governing bodies.

Meetings are expected to continue until December of this year. The announcement of the successful candidate is anticipated to take place in the first half of 2017.
