Cody Groat’s time at Wilfrid Laurier University's Brantford campus represents more than just a chapter in his life. The result of his undergraduate years is, quite literally, an entire book.
Groat recently released a self-published work of non-fiction titled Canadian Stories, which features interviews Groat conducted with more than 30 famous Canadians, including the late Farley Mowat, CBC News anchor Peter Mansbridge and Michael Stark and Michael Leshner, Canada’s first legally married same-sex couple. He began writing the book as a first-year student.
Groat launched the book in his hometown of Ingersoll, Ontario, in July and held a Laurier launch event at the university's Brantford campus in September.
Now a student at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, he says a UK-based followup is in the works.
