A Laurier student is a satisfied student, according to the Maclean’s Rankings of Canadian Universities. Laurier ranked No. 1 in its category for student satisfaction.
Within student satisfaction, Laurier ranked No. 1 in its category for extracurricular activities, residence living, student-life staff, course instructors, academic advising, mental-health services and bureaucracy (the least red tape).
Laurier also improved in five other key national rankings: overall reputation, best overall, highest quality, most innovative and leaders of tomorrow. Overall, the university placed in the top 10 in its category nationally and in the top five in Ontario.
Maclean’s lists Laurier in the comprehensive category, which includes 15 universities across the country with a “significant amount of research activity and a wide range of programs at the undergraduate and graduate level, including professional degrees.”
“As one of the best comprehensive universities in Canada, we are committed to providing a range of excellent undergraduate, graduate and professional programs, as well as an extraordinary student experience,” said Deborah MacLatchy, Laurier’s incoming president and vice-chancellor.
