Fountain Asset Corp. recently announced the appointment of Andrew Parks (BBA ’08) as chief executive officer and a director of the company. Parks was most recently a portfolio manager at a Toronto-based asset management firm.
USA Swimming has appointed Isabelle McLemore (BA ’02) senior director of communications. She will lead media and public relations efforts in the organization’s commercial division. McLemore was previously vice-president of corporate communications for UFC.
Christopher Kane (BA ’92) recently joined National Access Cannabis Corp. as the company's chief operating officer. Kane will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, advancing future retail operations and implementing the company's long-term business strategy.
Rusty McLay (BBA '90) has been appointed a senior partner at law firm Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP in London, Ontario. McLay previously held positions as chief administrative officer and general counsel at Conestoga College and vice-president, legal at BlackBerry.
Lynn Oldfield (BBA ’84) was recently chosen to serve as chair of the board of the Insurance Institute of Canada. Oldfield currently serves president and CEO of AIG Insurance Company of Canada. She first joined AIG in 1991 and was appointed president of the company in 2008.
Kitchener-based writer and former philosophy and cultural studies student Ashley Hynd was recently named winner of PRISM International's prestigious Pacific Spirit Poetry Prize for her work First Communion (1992).
