Orin Baranowsky (BBA ’98) was recently appointed chief financial officer of Blue Thunder Mining Inc. Baranowsky is a mining executive with more than 20 years of finance and capital markets experience.
Mario D’Ovidio (BBA ’92) has been appointed executive vice president and president of consumer solutions with Pentair plc, a leading global water company.
Stephanie Egan (BBA ’12) was named the recipient of Canadian Grocer's Women in Grocery Award for her work as the marketing director at Piller’s Fine Foods.
Jon French (BBA ’00) was appointed director of University of Toronto Entrepreneurship, a community that provides potential entrepreneurs the opportunity and resources to lift business ideas off the ground.
Steve Griggs (BA ’92), chief executive officer of the Tampa Bay Lightning, will have his name etched in National Hockey League history after the Lightning captured the Stanley Cup. Griggs has worked with the Lightning in a variety of capacities over the past decade, including as the team’s CEO since 2015.
Queenie Lo (BA ’06) has joined the Toronto firm Minden Gross LLP as a partner in its business law group. Lo’s practice focuses on private mergers and acquisitions, as well as domestic and cross-border business issues.
Eric Loree (BBA ’00) has been named chief legal officer with Bay Talent Group Inc. Loree first joined the company as corporate secretary in 2018.
MediPharm Labs Corp. announced the appointment of Shelley Martin (BBA ’85) to its board of directors. Martin is the former president and CEO of Nestlé Canada and a top executive in the packaged goods industry.
Stria Lithium Inc. appointed Harry Martyniuk (BBA ’78) to its board of directors. Since 2000, Martyniuk has been a partner in Pioneer Family Pools and Pioneer Distribution, Ontario’s largest retailer of pools, hot tubs and swim spas.
Daniel Millett (BBA ’05) was appointed chief financial officer of Park Lawn Corporation. Millett formerly served as chief financial officer of Agellan Commercial REIT and a senior manager at KPMG LLP.
Meri Kim Oliver (BA ’83, MTHS ’86) was named vice president of students at Okanagan College in British Columbia. Oliver previously served as vice-president of student affairs at Durham College in Oshawa, Ont.
Andrew Parks (BBA ’08) was named to the board of directors of Prominex Resource Corp. Parks is currently the CEO and director of Fountain Asset Corp. and a director of the BRN Group.
Audrey P. Ramsay (BA ’89) was appointed a judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario. Called to the bar in 1995, Ramsay studied political science and French at Laurier before earning a bachelor of law degree from the University of Ottawa.
Michael Paul Reed (BA ’93) joined WSFS Bank as executive vice president, chief risk officer. Most recently, Reed served as a partner in the financial services and corporate groups at Covington and Burling LLP.
Neil Said (BBA ’02) has been appointed chief executive officer of Magnolia Colombia Limited. Said is a business leader and corporate securities lawyer who has worked as an officer and legal consultant to Canadian companies in the technology, cannabis, mining, oil and gas, and healthcare industries.
Derek Suen (BA ’06, MBA ’17) was presented the Automotive Industries Association of Canada’s 2020 Young Leader of the Year Award. Suen is currently the manager of the new product development team at Dorman Products.
