Keeping up to date with Wilfrid Laurier University graduates

• Orin Baranowsky (BBA ’98) has been appointed chief financial officer of Treasury Metals Inc. Most recently, Baranowsky served as chief financial officer with Blue Thunder Mining Inc.

• RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust has appointed Dennis Blasutti (BA ’02) chief financial officer. Blasutti joins RioCan from Brookfield Asset Management.

David Borecky• David Borecky (BBA ’06) was promoted to chief financial officer of Impossible Foods. Borecky has led the company’s accounting, tax and financial operations for the past two years.

• Jared Cayley (BA ’05) was appointed director of fire and emergency services and fire chief with the Gravenhurst Fire Department.

• Kevin Cole (BBA ’00) was appointed to the board of directors for Plant & Co. Brands Ltd. Cole currently serves as president and chief executive officer of STEM Animal Health.

Ryan Daniels• Ryan Daniels (BBA ’13) was named goaltender development coach of the Texas Stars, the Dallas Stars top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

• Matt Dixon (MBA ’07) was named the chair of the Ontario Craft Cider Association. Dixon is co-founder and president of Niagara Cider Company.

• Linda Drysdale (DIPLAC ’91) was appointed to the board of directors of Pet Valu. Drysdale currently serves as chief financial officer of Interac Corp.

• Jayati Ghosh (MA ’86) was named dean of Saginaw Valley State University’s Scott L. Carmona College of Business.

Steve Griggs• Steve Griggs (BA ’92) celebrated a second consecutive Stanley Cup championship with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Griggs serves as chief executive officer with the team.

• Karim Habib (BA ’86) was appointed managing director, business lending – Canada with Gerber Finance.

• The Law Society of Ontario presented Eldon Horner (BA ’90) the Law Society Medal, a prestigious annual award presented to lawyers who have made a significant contribution to the profession.

Diana Mansour• Diana Mansour (MA ’12, BA ’11) joined law firm Hicks Morley as a litigation associate in the firm’s Toronto office.

Mike Morice• Mike Morrice (BBA, BSc ’08), Laurier’s former Social Entrepreneur in Residence, was elected to the House of Commons in the riding of Kitchener Centre as a member of the Green Party.

• Julie Robertson (DIPLAC ’00) was appointed to the board of directors of Quebec Precious Metals Corporation. Robertson serves as vice-president finance and capital projects at Centerra Gold Inc.

• Barbat Rodgers (BBA ’07) joined JBG Smith as senior vice president of investor relations. Rodgers most recently served as senior director, investor relations with Healthpeak Properties.

• Wendy Rudd (MBA ’88) was elected to the board of Mogo Inc, a digital payments and financial technology company.

• Razor Suleman (BBA ’98) was named president of Pacaso International. Suleman will oversee the company's international expansion.

Chitman Uppal• Financial technology company Liquidly Inc. announced the appointment of Chitman Uppal (M.Fin. ’17, MBA ’17) as VP compliance. Uppal previously held a position with Voleo Trading Systems Inc.

• BMO Asset Management named Greg Walker (BA ’00) its new director, Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) Capital Markets and Strategic Relationships.

• Shawn R. Warren (MBA ’20, BBA ’94) was named president and CEO of GreenSpace Brands Inc. Warren is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of general management and business leadership experience.

Perry Wilson• Perry Wilson (DIPLBU ’90) was appointed vice-president of operations in Ontario with Farm Credit Canada. Wilson possesses more than 15 years experience leading a variety of teams within the organization.
