My name is Abdiasis Issa. I was born in Somalia and immigrated to Canada following the Somali Civil War. I am part of the class of 2017. Receiving the Herman, Winnifred and Kathryn Lippert Memorial Award will help ease some financial burdens that I face as a student largely relying on student loans. I take great comfort in knowing that I can rely on my Laurier community.
